The Powder Room was established in 2011 and has now been serving you beautiful ladies for over 10 years.

Claire qualified from Hull College in 2001 and has been in the industry since working in top city centre salons before becoming self employed in 2007. Claire had a dream to create a salon that was different from the rest after spotting the original front door on 131 Chanterlands Avenue she knew how pretty it would look painted pink and so the vision had begun.

Claire converted the run down property on a very tight budget (borrowed from parents) creating a haven of vintage prettiness. Days & nights of hard work & tears paid off the salon soon became a huge success and grew into a team of 10 by 2020.

The salon has changed a lot since covid hit and now has a much smaller team of five girls. The salon is now run as three separate businesses but we are still very much The Powder Room Family.

We are well known in the city of Hull and pride ourselves on our laid back friendly atmosphere providing great treatments

Would 100% recommend The Powder Room for microblading/ powder brows (and have already many times). I over plucked my eyebrows as a teenager and they never really grew back. Claire has been amazing and lovely from the first time I got in touch through Instagram. She’s sorted out my eyebrows which has given me such a confidence boost. If anyone is thinking about it, you won’t regret it!

Arrived at the lovely Powder Room to a warm, smiling welcome as always. My nails were such a mess with many broken I wasn’t sure what could be done. I left with beautiful shaped and polished nails. Thank you so much Caitlin x

The girls at Powder Room got myself and my wedding party ready for my big day in May. We had shellac nails and spray tans and the team were great. Our spray tans were the most perfect colour (we all just looked sun kissed) and we were all thrilled with our nails, especially with my ring finger nail art that said I do! Thank you so much for making me feel like a million dollars!

As always my visit was very professional, calm and relaxing. I am always pleased with my manicure and pedicure and am regularly told how nice my nails look. All the girls are trained to a very high standard.
